Portrait Photography FAQs

Portrait Photography FAQS

  • Ultimately, it’s completely up to you how long you’d like to book me for. Depending on your budget and requirements, a portrait photography session could last anywhere from 1 hour to a few hours.

  • In order to capture shots you're happy with, it's important you wear something you're comfortable in for your portrait photoshoot. Of course, your clothing depends largely on the brief and your requirements. At the end of the day, this is your portrait shoot, so it's entirely up to you, or your stylist, what you choose to wear.

  • Depending on your requirements, we can hold the shoot indoors at your home, place of work or another hired location, or we can shoot outdoors at a local beauty spot, such as a beach or park. If you have some ideas in mind, I’d be happy to discuss this with you when you book your portrait shoot with me.

  • Absolutely. If you have a favourite location, such as a beach, park, or a beautiful view, I’d be happy to discuss locations with you in order to choose the best location for you shoot.

  • While I don’t have a permanent studio space for you to come to, I do have a portable mobile studio that I can easily transport to your home, or place of business.

  • I edit all images using professional editing software.

  • It really depends on your needs and the project brief. Sometimes, it's possible to get the perfect shots really quickly. Whereas, other times it requires a little more persistence to get shots you're satisfied with. We'll discuss your needs before and during the portrait shoot to ensure we hit the nail on the head and deliver photographs you love.

  • I will provide your photos via a downloadable online album, for which I will email you the link. If required, I can provide a USB stick containing the files, at extra cost. If you require physical prints, I am happy to discuss this further.

  • Images will be edited and delivered to you within 7 days of your photoshoot. I am able to provide images within 24 hours, or on the same day, for an additional cost, if required.

  • Portrait photography prices start from £50. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your needs and budget, and I’d be happy to work out a package and price that suits you. I require a booking fee of £50 which is non-refundable and will be deducted from the final balance.

  • I regularly work with clients on portrait photography projects and business headshots in Devon, Dorset and Somerset, as well as throughout the UK. Please get in touch to check if I can cover your location.

  • I am fully insured with public liability and indemnity insurance specifically for professional photographers.

  • My style is ‘relaxed’ where I do my best to put you at your ease and capture the images that truly reflect you; even if you hate having your photo taken!

  • Absolutely. If you have a space in your home or workplace, you’d be happy to use, I’d be happy to travel to you. I also have a mobile, portable studio I can easily transport if needed.

  • Files provided via an online album will be delivered at up to 2 MB and 300dpi. However, the pixel size remains the same so these files are adequate for printing. If different dimensions are required, i.e. 72dpi, please let me know.

  • In answering this question I can say this: I give all clients 2 sets of files. One that they can immediately use for all forms of social media, and the other for printing.

For printing I use a company called Whitewall or Metro Imaging, links below.

The images that I take for each client are carefully colour controlled throughout the process from capture, to editing, to printing.

With these companies, who offer a range of papers and materials to print the image on, I can also control the end colours of the print through the colour profiles they supply me for each different surface; thus ensuring the best end results.

With Whitewall I can also create books from small A5 mementoes, perhaps for family and friends to large A3 Coffee table books.

It seems like an almost unlimited range of options to filter through what you’re looking for after a shoot. Please do not hesitate to contact me and ask what I would recommend for your personal needs. I am an experienced photographer and would be happy to help in any way I can as I’ve seen many different ways that my images have been formatted.

  • A full range of professional printing is available with prints onto a variety of paper or different mediums. I am happy to discuss a variety of options to meet your needs.
